HOLIDAYS. We run a young peoples activity holiday at an accredited outdoors activity centre most years. Activities undertaken include abseiling and kayaking and everyone has a fun time. A holiday for adults is also usually run most years at a suitable hotel in an attractive setting outside Cornwall. Clients are charged for these holidays, which are subsidised with the Association providing staff to organise and run them together with volunteers

HOSPITAL INFORMATION DESKS. A long established Outpost is based at the St Austell Community hospital outpatients department to provide advice, information about other services as well as support to ophthalmic patients, their friends and relatives. A similar service has recently been established at Bodmin Community Hospital.

TALKING BOOKS. The Association acts as agents for the RNIB providing this important service locally to visually impaired people.

A CD player enables the user to choose from a huge range of talking books, which can be listened to at home and delivered to your door.

GRANTS. The CBA has a small annual grants budget, which can be used to assist visually impaired people and their families where there is a case of severe hardship and need. Clients need to demonstrate that they cannot fund a particular need and that they have already pursued other funding sources.
