A team of sponsored ‘dare devils' ran barefoot across a burning-bed of hot coals at Event Square, Falmouth on Friday 20th March.

All the funds raised in the hot-footed pursuit will go towards providing services for the visually impaired in Cornwall.

Debbie, Community & Events Fundraiser for Cornwall Blind Association said:

"It was a great community event and supporters cheered the team along. While we were being prepared for the foot warming spectacle the flames were several inches high, by the time it came to start the firewalk the coals were burning red hot."

She added: "The money we raise will go towards things like benefits advice, Low Vision Clinics, sight assessments, special gadgets and magnifiers, counselling, be-friending, sensory equipment and holiday for children and subsidised travel for those with sight loss in Cornwall."
