Life without limits - Adventure Holiday 2010

From Sunday 8 to Friday 13 August 2010 we are giving visually impaired youngsters the chance to experience the extreme side of life with a holiday jam-packed full of exciting activities. With surfing, body boarding, rock climbing, abseiling and mountain boarding there is an adventure designed for everyone.

Adventure Holiday

The week is designed to help build confidence by showing the youngsters just how much they can achieve and to create friendships that will last beyond the holiday and into the future. Activities during the evenings include fancy dress, talent nights, karaoke, five-a-side football, and plenty of games.

It's an opportunity for the kids to discover just what they are capable of, explore their own limits and to have as much fun as possible with people their own age.

Adventure International is a multi-activity centre in Bude, North Cornwall. The Centre was originally the Grenville Hotel built in 1909, one of Bude's most historic and prominent buildings.

Whilst the activities may seem challenging for children with sight loss, they are fully risk assessed, and help the children to reassess their own opinions of what they are capable of achieving. The staff are specifically trained in supporting children with disabilities, and the site itself is well-equipped to cope with complex individual needs.
