We are delighted to announce that James Churchfield, BBC Radio Cornwall will be launching and Ed Coode, Olympic Gold Medallist is leading our “Stride for Sight” Goss Moor Charity Walk on 24th March 2012. Following last years’ success we have chosen another historic location of Goss Moor to raise money and celebrate 155 years of the Cornwall Blind Association. The day will start at 10.30 at The Screech Owl Sanctuary, where parking is free and half price entry is being offered to all participants! After all those years of driving through Goss Moor and wondering what was there, you can now enjoy walking the trail which leads into this historic heath and ancient mining area. There will be a “Find the Chough” competition en-route to encourage mini walkers and the terrain is flat throughout. We are inviting you, our members, clients, volunteers, supporters and friends, to join in this circular route and unite for our charity in continuing this cause which offers vital services to the people of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. Without vital local funding, we could not provide the essential emotional and practical support that our visually impaired and blind users rely on! This event will bring together the heritage of Cornwall, the history of the Charity and the hearts and minds of everyone that has a part to play in the future of our life changing work. The walk is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness! Even children in buggies, wheelchair users and well behaved dogs are welcome! Registration is £10 per adult, £5 per child and £20 for a group of 2 adults and 2 or more children.
