Access Technology

Do you, or someone you know, have difficulty seeing to read? Perhaps you experience problems using technology such as computers due to sight loss? Or maybe struggle to use new electronic devices, such as mobile phones, because of their size? Access Technology is an enabling tool that might be able to help.

Rod Keat Access Technology Officer

Access Technology or Assistive Technology provides “access to technology” for an individual who has a visual impairment.

The technology might be adaptive hardware or software which can make equipment accessible to someone with a sight problem. For example, this can mean adding speech, magnification or a braille display to a computer or mobile phone.

We may suggest specialist equipment that has been designed for use by individuals who have a visual impairment, such as video magnifiers, talking scanners or braille notetakers.

If you would like information about what equipment or software is available, or advice to establish whether you could benefit from using these aids, why not make an appointment to speak to our Access Technology Officer. You could even arrange an appointment for a FREE demonstration or one-to-one assessment.

This will offer the opportunity to discuss your visual impairment in detail and gain hands-on experience of a range of unique equipment to help address your specific needs, whether those requirements arise at home, out and about, in education or employment.

Whatever your age, background or experience, our aim is to suggest ways in which this specialist equipment can help meet your needs.

We are approachable, honest and experienced in assisting people with variable requirements, so why not get in touch for a consultation today.
