Cold Weather Payment
These are automatic payments of £25, for each qualifying week, made by the Department for Work and Pensions if:
- the average temperature recorded, over seven consecutive days, at the designated weather station for your area is zero degreees and
- you recieve a means tested benefit such as Income Support, Income based Job Seekers Allowance or income related Employment and Support Allowance and you are responsible for a child under 5 or
- You recieve pension credit, income related ESA that includes a work related activity or support group component and you are not resident in a care home.
