Cornwall Blind Association - Improving the lives of visually impaired people

DLA Campaign

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is currently one of the most effectively targeted benefits and makes a real difference to the daily lives of thousands of blind and partially sighted people.

However, the Government is proposing to replace DLA with a new benefit - Personal Independence Payment (PIP) - designed to save the treasury over £1 billion by 2014/15.

We have serious concerns about this proposal. New rules on eligibility could see many blind and partially sighted people excluded from the new benefit. This would be wholly unjustified.

Blind and partially sighted people will need PIP just as much as DLA to meet the wide range of additional costs they face in the areas of communication, daily living and transport.

The RNIB are running this large campaign which Cornwall Blind Association fully supports, to get involved and have your say click this link to visit the RNIB page to voice your opinion.
