Cornwall Blind Association - Improving the lives of visually impaired people

Transport

Transport is a problem for many in our county but for those with a sight loss the difficulty of getting around under their own steam can be much greater.Cornwall Blind Association can offer support with transport.

Cornwall Blind Association can arrange subsidised transport for visually impaired people to attend medical appointments and clubs, and transport for a visit to one of the Sight Centre’s if people are unable to make their own arrangements with family or friends.

We are always looking for volunteers for driving; mileage and out of pocket expenses are paid. All new volunteers have references taken which are checked and a Criminal Records Bureau check is undertaken before they are taken on and are thoroughly trained in visual impairment issues and the duties of the role they are undertaking.

Please contact the Truro Sight Centre on 01872 266710 or email: pfawcett@cornwallblind.org.uk, if you can spare some time for this type of voluntary work.

If you would like to arrange some transport, please call 01872 266701 or email: sbeedell@cornwallblind.org.uk
