Warm Home Discount

The Energy and Climate Minister has announced that half a million pensioners will be entitled to an energy rebate from their supplier via the Warm Home Discount scheme.

You need to be in receipt of the guarantee credit element of Pension Credit on 11/09/2011 to be entitled. If you only recieve the savings credit element of Pension Credit you will not be entitled. To recieve this rebate your energy provider must be participating in the scheme and the first rebates will be made in the Winter 2011/12.

Other people may be entitled such as those under pensionable age who have a disability, children under 5, or are in receipt of certain other income related benefits. Please contact your supplier as there is a limited amount of money available.

This rebate is separate from the Winter Fuel Payment.
