Here are a few Frequently asked Questions and Answers.
Q1 I want to volunteer for Cornwall Blind Association so what do I do next?
A1 Phone or email our Volunteer Co-ordinator who will contact you and arrange to meet up and go through the various opportunities available.
Q2 Will my expenses be paid while I am volunteering?
A2 Yes, we pay 40p per mile for car travel. Some people kindly donate their expenses back to the charity for which we are very grateful.
Q3 How much time will I need for volunteering?
A3 It is entirely up to you - it could be as little as an hour a month.
Q4 Will I be interviewed? What will you ask me and can I ask questions?
A4 We always like to have an informal chat to tell you what is needed to be a volunteer but also to find out what sort of opportunities you are interested in. We find out what your particular skills are i.e fundraising and what new skills you would like to learn through your volunteering.
This will also give you a chance to meet the staff team and get to know all about the Association and ask any questions you may have.
Q5 Can I leave if I don't like it?
A5 Yes of course as you are not under any obligation, but there will always be someone to talk so you can discuss any problems. We also have a complaints procedure.
Q6 I am working full time/part time will I still be able to volunteer?
A6 Yes, there are many opportunities to volunteer during evenings and weekends.
Q7 What do volunteers do?
A7 We have a list of volunteering opportunities from store collections and other fundraising opportunities to Befriending, to Talking Support, Club helpers etc. If you have any other ideas for other ways you would like to volunteer we will certainly support you.

Q9 Do I need qualifications?
A9 No.
Q10 Can I get a qualification?
A10 We hope to access some NVQ courses and then it will be down to you.
